ENGL 1650 Introduction to Literature

This course introduces multi-genre works of literature in the areas of poetry, drama, and short fiction. Students will engage in active and critical reading strategies to deepen and promote understanding of cultural, historical, and aesthetic qualities of literature. Literary terminology, literary devices, and methods of literary analysis will be examined to provide a broad understanding of literature and to advance critical writing about literature.
